BoxingScene.com has just learned that the WBO rejected a proposed August fight between junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and unbeaten challenger Joan Guzman. There were discussions between both sides and a verbal deal was reached. The fight was sent to the WBO for approval, and the sanctioning body rejected the fight.

The rejection is not surprising when considering the obvious. Guzman is not ranked in the top-fifteen by the WBO - at 140-pounds. He does have a WBO ranking at number eleven - at 135-pounds.
