Opponents have been just set for the remaining stars of Universum Box-Promotion, once a famed German boxing company, which has been slowly striding into obscurity in the recent years, and holds its next card on October 12 in Hamburg, Germany.
UBP, now led by ex-Soviet expatriate Waldemar Kluch, has recently been left by a majority of its stars, including Felix Sturm, Ruslan Chagaev, Gennady Golovkin, Serhiy Dzinziruk, Jack Culcay-Keth, Susi Kentikian and some others. The team’s most expensive assets now are Russians Denis Boytsov and Rakhim Chakhkiev, two highly ranked fighters – a heavyweight and a cruiserweight respectively.
On October 12, WBO #1, WBC #3, WBA #4 and IBF #11 Boytsov, 26, will make another tune-up against rugged and brave but slow and deceiving former Kazakh native Konstantin Airich (23-7-2, 17 KOs), who is coming off a one-sided drubbing from the hands of Vyacheslav Glazkov in Moscow, Russia. The fight is set for ten rounds.
On the same card, WBC #5, WBO/IBF #13 and WBA #14 ranked Beijing Olympics heavyweight gold medalist Rakhim Chakhkiev (14-0, 11 KOs) will risk his WBC Baltic cruiserweight title against Argentinean import Alejandro Emilio Valori (9-3, 6 KOs) in a virtual mismatch.
