Pick It: Bader Samreen vs. Jose Paez Gonzales (Saturday, DAZN, 12:00 PM EST)

For most boxing fans, this is a weekend off with September in general having a bit of a pause moment before things heat back up to close 2023 out in style. In the meantime, it’s a chance for diehard fans to check out some action that might not always catch the eye. Lightweights get the main event in this card from UAE.

23-year old Bader Samreen (8-0, 7 KO) is moving into more experienced opponents and graduating into his first ten-round bout here. He will face an opponent in Paez (16-2-2, 12 KO) with only one stoppage defeat and a 3-0-1 mark in his last four starts. It’s a good progress fight. We’ll see if Samreen is one to keep an eye on.

Additional Show to Watch For

Saturday - Hermosillo vs. De Leon (Fox Deportes, 11:00 PM EST)

Fans home late on Saturday might get some enjoyment out of this featherweight clash. 22-year old Alexis De Luna (10-1, 5 KO) is coming off a narrow majority decision loss in his last fight but he’s young and has time to bounce back and find out what his hopes for the future can be. 31-year old Rigoberto Hermosillo (13-4-1, 9 KO) has won two since dropping four in a row and has never been stopped.
