Pick It: TBRB #5 Gilberto Ramirez vs. Gabriel Rosado (Saturday, DAZN, 8:00 PM EST)

This weekend is a bit of a breather between more notable weekends as a heavy slate from late March until May is ready to launch. Some of the best of boxing is coming. This fight has the potential to be an exhibition of boxing’s down side. The 31-year old Ramirez (44-1, 30 KO) makes a quick return after his first defeat to light heavyweight titlist Dmitry Bivol. His return foe probably has no business at light heavyweight against anyone. 37-year old Gabriel Rosado (26-16-1, 15 KO) has lost four of his last five and probably peaked as a Jr. middleweight. Rosado has made good shows with lots of guys over the years and been a credit to the game but this looks like a bad idea and hopefully, if Ramirez starts to beat him up, there is a quick exit from the officials.

Additional Shows to Watch For

Friday - Dovhun vs. Centeno (Starboxing.TV, 7:00 PM EST)

Jr. featherweights lock horns in this main event. 28-year old Oleh Dovhun (14-0, 5 KO) has gone ten rounds in each of his last two starts. 28-year old Juan Centeno (8-6-3, 1 KO) has been stopped twice but both of those losses came over four years ago.

Saturday - Pattison vs. Jenkins (DAZN, 3:00 PM EST)

A welterweight prospect from the UK takes what could be a step up here but may well be a showcase. 28-year old Cyrus Pattinson (5-0, 3 KO) is moving toward a veteran foe in 34-year old Chris Jenkins (23-6-3, 8 KO). Jenkins has been stopped twice, both of them coming in a 1-3 stretch in his last four. Jenkins has lost two in a row.

Saturday - Miller vs. Browne (ProBoxTV, 11:00 AM EST)

34-year old Jarrell Miller (25-0-1, 21 KO) blew up his career with PED abuse when he was on the verge of title opportunities. Out of the ring between 2018 and 2022, Miller returned last year north of 340 pounds. He was closer to 320 for his next fight and his effort to fight back into shape continues against 43-year old Lucas Browne (31-3, 27 KO). All of Browne’s losses have been by stoppage. Browne has won two in a row heading into this Dubai affair.
