Last weekend, boxing fans sent a very clear message to the higher powers in the boxing business. Fans of the sport are tired of being tackled with numerous boxing pay-per-view events on a monthly basis.

Two boxing pay-per-view events took place last weekend. Rather than watch either of the events that had no business being on pay-per-view - fans tuned out.

According to ESPN, industry insiders believe that neither Mike Tyson's exhibition pay-per-view against Corey Sanders or Golden Boy's "Mexican Glory" show that featured Ponce De Leon, were able to break 20,000 buys.

Hopefully this sends a message to boxing promoters and the networks, to stop trying to shove constant pay-per-views down the throats of fans. The sport is averaging 1-2 pay-per-views per month and it's staring to become clear that fans are sick and tired of shelling out $50-$100 bucks on a monthly basis for poor cards and fights that almost never live up to the hype.
