David Haye's manager and trainer, Adam Booth, has revealed that negotiations have begun for a mandatory defense of the WBA heavyweight title against Ruslan Chagaev at the end of May. The fight will happen in England. IBO/WBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko will defend his belts against Dereck Chisora on April 30 in Germany. If Klitschko and Haye are both victorious, a unification showdown on July 2 is possible.
Booth says the Klitschko fight is a dead issue. He already asked Chagaev's manager to supply the necessary medical records to ensure the boxer is healthy.
"The Klitschko situation is dead. I have asked Chagaev's manager to supply medical records," Booth told The Sun.
