Back for the first time after suffering his first career setback to Giovanni Segura, former Olympian Jonathan 'Bomba' Gonzalez (13-1-1, 11 KO's) had to settle for a majority draw in an eight round bout with Michael Ruiz Jr. (9-4-2 and 3 KO's) at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center in Buffalo, New York. Judges Don Ackerman and Eric Marlinski scored the bout 76-76, while Tom Schreck saw it 77-75 for Gonzalez.
"My people, it was a tough fight. We had a majority draw but we are back. There is no excuse. Thanks for the support. I'll be back soon. Thanks for coming out," he said on his Facebook account.
