LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - Bob Santos recently sat down with BoxingScene.com to discuss Saturday night’s highly anticipated fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia. The fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas strip and is available via Showtime pay-per-view and PPV.COM.

According to Santos, the fight will be a close one, but he believes that Davis will come out on top.

“In my opinion, it will be a very close fight with both fighters having their moments. The key though is Davis having the edge in both experience and power and that I believe will lead to him pulling off the victory.

“Look at who Tank has fought and then look at who Garcia has fought. There is a big difference and I think that’s the key,” Santos said in reference to previous Davis opponents such as Isaac Cruz, Hector Luis Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz, and Jose Pedraza, while the best fighter Garcia has faced is Luke Campbell.

Despite his lack of experience at the highest level, Garcia has the advantage in height, reach, and hand speed while also packing plenty of power. Those are the reasons why Santos expects a close fight.

“Ryan is a heck of a fighter and has a lot of tools so  writing him off would be a big mistake. Ultimately though, I expect Tank to pull it off,” Santos told BoxingScene.com.

Santos has a busy schedule coming up with WBA super lightweight champion Alberto Puello returning to action May 13th against Rolando Romero and WBC interim middleweight champion Carlos Adames taking on former unified champion Julian Williams on June 24th. Both fights will headline Showtime Championship Boxing cards.
