Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is a bit behind in the latest rhetoric in regards to Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao, which now has Mayweather on the verbal offensive and claiming that he wants to make this fight a reality.
Earlier this week, the veteran promoter was in Shanghai to officially announce his March 7th card at the Venetian Resort in Macao that is being headlined by tow-time Olympic gold medal winner Zou Shiming
"I was on a slow boat to China," Arum said to BoxingScene.com. ''But we'll see, I mean that's the fight Manny wants to make. That's for sure and so maybe it can happen. Let's see what happens.''
Arum says he is still talking things out with the head of CBS/Viacom, Les Moonves. CBS is the parent company of Showtime, which has Mayweather under an exclusive contract.
There seems to be a battle brewing over the coveted May 2nd date between Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (who could be facing Miguel Cotto).
"I don't know who's making a battle over what...I just don't know," said Arum. "I said what I had to say about it and I think everybody realizes that what I said was correct and I think everybody's going to do the right thing."
