In an interview with The Sun, British champion Chris Eubank Jr and his father, Chris Eubank Sr., were tagged as “disgusting” and “inhuman” by Nick Blackwell for going against his family’s wishes and holding a press conference three days after their near-tragic fight.

Blackwell, 25, was placed in an induced coma following his collapse after his tenth-round stoppage loss to Eubank Jr, 26, at Wembley Arena in their British middleweight title clash on March 26th.

The Eubanks held a press conference in London three days later, which Eubank Sr. claimed was in response to the high demand from the media for interviews.

Blackwell does not believe that. He called it a publicity stunt to receive positive press on the back of his serious injuries. The now retired fighter said he would love to land one final punch to the jaw of Eubank Sr.

“I haven’t any hard feelings about the fight because you’re in there to win and try and hurt someone — it’s just the stuff he has done after. It’s inhuman, it’s disgusting. They were trying to make themselves look like the good guys when they are the opposite," Blackwell told The Sun

“My family and friends were begging them not to talk, but they ignored it. I’ve only just been shown the press conference and I know exactly what happened. It isn’t human what they’ve done. They were grabbing as much attention as they could. I was still in a coma but they went ahead and did it. That’s the Eubanks, isn’t it? They just want attention, no matter if it’s a bad or a good thing.”

"If I could have one more knockout shot, I'd love to land it on the jaw of Chris Eubank [Sr.]."

Eubank Jr. responded to the comments from Blackwell and feels he handled the situation right.

“People and media demanded that we speak to them. If we had just said ‘No comment’ it would have come off as cold.”
