Undefeated cruiserweight BJ Flores (24-0) wants to let the world know that he is ready to go to Austraila and promises to return to the U.S. with Danny Green's (30-3) IBO strap. BoxingScene.com has been on hand for many of Flores' sparring sessions as he prepared for the biggest fight of his career.
Flores held his training camp in Las Vegas, NV under the guidance of his longtime trainer Jacob Chavez and strength and conditioning coach Ray Franklin. Flores faced a variety of sparring partners and feels that he will put on the performance of his life when he faces IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green on November 17th in the Australian's backyard.
Flores told BoxingScene, "Ryan, please let the fans know that I have gotten up for this fight more than any other fight in my life and that all the work in camp will show itself on November 17th. You have seen a lot of it yourself. On November 17th I will have my greatest performance to date."
Flores, who is naturally bigger than Green brought in big sparring partners to push him around and help build up his endurance. They also helped him get used to the pushing and holding tactics that Green is sure to employ. He also brought in smaller sparring partners who more closely resemble Green's size.
"I've gotten in about 70 plus rounds of sparring and I am ready to handle anything Green comes with." Green has previously fought at light heavyweight and super middleweight. Flores will be the biggest fighter that he has faced."
Team Flores concentrated on fitness and they believe endurance will be a key to the fight.
"I am down on weight already, walking around at 200 pounds and I am ready to go to Austrailia and handle the business at hand. I am more than ready for this opportunity! I am ready to fight right now!"
Green versus Flores takes place on November 17th in Western Australia at Challenge Stadium. Flores wants the fans to make sure they have their tickets. Flores told BoxingScene, "Its going to be a public assassination on November 17th!"
