Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - Cruiserweight contender BJ Flores (31-2-1, 20KOs) is planning to test the waters in the heavyweight division.

Flores was last in the ring in July, when he lost a controversial twelve round decision in a WBA interim-title fight with Beibut Shumenov.

There were serious discussions for a fall fight with newly crowned WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Glowacki (25-0, 16KOs). Those negotiations were pushed back after Glowacki had to undergo surgery due to several injures that he suffered during his sensational title-winning knockout of Marco Huck in August.

Flores advised BoxingScene.com that he will return as a heavyweight in January and then plans to have another fight in April, against a heavyweight contender in the top ten.

He hopes a fight with Glowacki will come off at some point in 2016.
