Olympian Billy Joe Saunders made short work of Matt Scriven last Saturday night in Manchester, stopping his opponent in two one-sided rounds. The Hatfield-based fighter then sat back and watched promotional stablemate Amir Khan win a world title. Saunders, 19, believes that he can emulate Khan’s achievement.
Billy Joe, now 3-0 (3), told the Welwyn and Hatfield Times that he is hoping to win a world title at a relatively young age.
“I'm still in my teens and I've got a while to go before I'm looking at titles,” declared Saunders. “But watching Amir win the world title has really driven home the fact that it could be me in a few years time.”
