Preparations are well positioned for Mexico's Jorge Lacierva, who goes for the vacant featherweight world title of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) against Australia's Billy "The Kid" Dib on July 29 at the Olympic Park Sports Centre in Homebush, New South Wales in Australia. The title of the IBF was declared vacant after Yuriorkis Gamboa no-showed the secondary weigh-in for his March win over Jorge Solis in Atlantic City.

''Even though he lost a few fights, he is still in the prime of his career," Dib said. "he only has two losses (and two draws) in his last 24 fights, and those defeats were against world champions. He is a Mexican who is explosive. That guy is not coming to Australia to take a stroll. He is coming coming to fight and I'm training to the best of my ability in order to prepare for the bout. He won't take a step back. I'm not a violent guy, but I promise that on July 29th it will be a violent night."
