Three overmatched Filipino fighters have been badly beaten in a fight card at the Italian Club in Perth, Western Australia.
Featherweight Ricky Sismundo lost by an 8th round TKO to world rated Billy Dib who had earlier backed out of a fight against Lorenzo Villanueva, the KO artist of the Braveheart boxing stable of former North Cotabato governor Manny Pinol.
The 25 year old Dib who is ranked No. 4 by the IBF dominated the slow-moving Sismundo before stopping him in the final round.
Dib improved to 31-1 with 19 knockouts while Sismundo fell to 18-6 with 7 knockouts.
In a light middleweight bout former WBO challenger Daniel Dawson who was hurt in round one by welterweight Arnel Tinampay, a former sparring partner of pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao, came back to win a majority decision over the 26 year old Filipino who apparently moved up in weight to take the fight.
The 33 year old Dawson improved his record to 36-3 with 24 knockouts while the 26 year old Tinampay dropped to 12-13-1 with 4 knockouts.
In a featherweight bout undefeated 22 year old Paul Fleming continued his winning streak with a 3rd round knockout over Joan de Guia.
Fleming nailed de Guia with a vicious body shot and followed it up with an uppercut to score the knockout and improve his record to 9-0 with 6 knockouts while de Guia who suffered his fourth loss in his last five fights dropped to 11-14-4 with 3 knockouts.
