Undefeated rising middleweight Billi "El Niño" Godoy quickly defeated Fernando "Ithaca" Pereyra by knockout in the first round to successfully defend his title for the first time. Godaoy is the FecarBox champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC). The fight took place on an interesting undercard at the Estadio Parque Central de Neuquén in Argentina.
From the outset, the native of Centenario, Neuquén took over the center of the ring, throwing a faint upward, but making it clear that he would go for the win. But when little had happened, the first attack was a not too light or deep but, ultimately, a powerful right cross from "El Niño" that impacted on the challenger's face, sending him to the canvas, although there was a delayed reaction. He was lying face down with no response, which forced the referee Daniel Rodriguez, to bring his count to ten, and stopping the battle at 1:08 of the round, to the surprise and delight of the local fans.
Godoy increased his unbeaten record to 17 wins (8 KOs), in as many fights, while Pereyra adds his second straight loss and fell to 15 wins (3 KOs) and four setbacks.
