Japanese bantamweight Big Yoo, whose real name is Hayato Kimura and who was born in Kanagawa, Japan, has scored a big win over the Philippines BJ Dolorosa with a 5th round TKO at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
The secretary general of the Japan Boxing Commission Koji Ishizuka cleared the confusion over the real identity of Big Yoo , informing us that Big Yoo is Hayato Kimura’s alias. Ishizuka said “he is Japanese but is now under contract with a Korean manager” so he is effectively under the Korean Boxing Commission.
Big Yoo resides in Seoul, Korea and is also known to use the alias Joon-in Yoo.
With the win over Dolorosa, Big Yoo avenged the loss he suffered to another Filipino Brix Ray to whom he lost by a ten round unanimous decision last January 3 and improved his record to 16-2 with 11 knockouts.
Dolorosa, the 21 year old southpaw dropped to 8-4 with 1 knockout. He was coming off a 6th round TKO to former world champion Cristian Mijares in a fight card in Mexico last 12.
