Sam ‘Speedy’ Sheedy will be hoping to not be on the wrong end of another controversial decision on November 21.

Sheedy, 27, saw his 15-fight unbeaten streak come to an end in July when he dropped a 10-round split decision to Nav Mansouri in their English light middleweight title fight. A bout that was screened live on Channel 5 and one that many an observer had Sheedy winning.

A shot at the Commonwealth light middleweight title awaits the Yorkshireman should he overcome Ghanaian Frank Dodze (18-8, 16 KOs) at the Magna Centre, Rotherham. A fight that represents Dodze’s first professional fight outside of his native Ghana and the eighth time he will face a fighter with a winning record.

Show promoter Dennis Hobson told dennishobsonpromotions.com: “We all know that Sam Sheedy should really be the English champion after his convincing performance against Nav Mansouri earlier in the year.

“How he lost that fight we’ll never know, but this is a chance to go down a different route and set up some big future fights, if he can get past Dodze.”

‘Bragging Rights’ is co-headlined by the English middleweight title fight which sees a local derby between Dronfield's Lewis Taylor defend his belt for the first time against Sheffield's Jez Wilson.

Another Sheffield fighter Muheeb Fazeldin takes on South Africa's Klaas Mboyane for the vacant Commonwealth bantamweight title. Mboyane is no stranger to the Magna Centre having defeated Ross Burkinshaw back in May for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental bantamweight title. A fight that saw Burkinshaw forced to retire at the end of the fourth round with an elbow injury.

“This is a great show to end the year with and sets us up nicely for some big things in 2016,” said Hobson.
