As a successful business mogul, Antonio L. Aldeguer knows the value of perseverance. Having built his business empire from the ground up in Cebu, The Philippines' "Queen City of the South", Aldeguer is not a stranger to unforeseen setbacks, misfortune and having to put in that extra effort to get to the next level.

When he first ventured into boxing promotions, Aldeguer would tirelessly send out his own typewritten press releases about his fighters such as former world title challenger Edito "Ala" Villamor, who is now one of the lead trainers in his boxing stable, and send it out via "snail mail" to sanctioning bodies overseas back in the pre-internet age during the late 80's and early 90's.

Aldeguer might have very well been a post office employee during his day, because like the postage stamps he slapped on the countless envelopes he sent out, Aldeguer knows a thing or two about sticking to something until he gets to his intended destination.

His hard work paid off. After several years of blood, sweat, tears and sacrifices, ALA Boxing Promotions in now a household name and the premiere boxing promotional company in the Philippines.

With his son Michael now manning the fort under the same principles he built his empire with, ALA Boxing is thriving and leading the push for Philippine boxing as aims to prove that it has more than Manny Pacquiao to show for.

Slowly but surely: That's been the mantra of ALA Boxing Promotions when it comes to their fighters these past couple of years. And guess what? It's working.

Among the things to expect from ALA Boxing in 2012 are title fights for several of their fighters like AJ Banal, Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista and Milan Melindo, their 2-division World Champion Donnie Nietes defending and attempting to unify jr. flyweight belts who all had highly successful campaigns in 2011.

ALA Promotions has a lot of big plans from the promotional and front office stand point as well, like it's continuing push to further expand the globalization of their brand and bringing their promotions and events to countries like Mexico and the United States.

Other plans include furthering the pay-per-View venture they initiated during Pinoy Pride 9 for Nietes' title challenge against Ramon Garcia, and putting up boxing gyms overseas on top of continuing their successful Pinoy Pride series on ABS-CBN.
