In a recent conversation with BoxingScene.com, lightweight contender Mickey Bey (18-1) said that he can't wait to return to action on Friday. Bey's fight against Carlos Cardenas (20-6-1) will be broadcast as part of a quadrupleheader on the season finale of Showtime's ShoBox series.

"It feels good knowing I am going to get back in the ring. This is what I love to do. I can't wait," said Bey.

The Cleveland, Ohio  native last fought in July when he was cruising to an unanimous decision victory over John Molina Jr. before getting caught and stopped in the final minute of the fight. Bey said that he is past that loss and will return to his winning ways.

"I put that behind me. I go in there and do basically what I did for the first 10 rounds before that happened. I am going to go in there and make him fight my fight," Bey explained.

Bey was o the cusp of a title shot before the loss to Molina. While he wouldn't go too far into detail in regards to his future plans, he did say that a major announcement will be forthcoming.

"We got something huge planned for next year but first things first. I can't really say what just yet. We have to take care of this fight first," Bey told BoxingScene.com.
