51-year-old Bernard Hopkins has made it clear that he would like one more fight before calling it quits on his illustrious boxing career. And with that, Golden Boy Promotions is in the process of finding a suitable opponent for him.

But Eric Gomez, President of Golden Boy tells BoxingScene.com - "Nothing's done. Bernard has not officially retired. He wants to fight again and we're looking at different possibilities, different ideas."

There were reports that he would return on December 17th at the Forum in Inglewood, California, where HBO is televising the bout between Orlando Salido and Takashi Miura for the interim WBC 130-pound title. But Gomez states - "It's not confirmed. As of right now there's no date, there's no TV. As of right now there's nothing. Absolutely nothing."

Gomez says it's not guaranteed that Hopkins (who has career mark of 55-7-2/32 KO's) will fight on that date. He added that he has been making various phone calls throughout the industry. But as of now, no deal has been consummated.

"Can something materialize? Of course, but as of right now there's nothing," stated Gomez.

Hopkins, a former two division world champion, last fought in November of 2014 where he was decisioned by Sergey Kovalev in their light heavyweight unification in Atlantic City.

Since that defeat, Hopkins has unsuccessfully attempted to secure fights with a variety of different opponents. There were some discussions between Golden Boy and Sauerland Event with respect to facing then WBO 168-pound champion Arthur Abraham at the start of this year. Both sides were very interested, but those plans were quickly derailed when the WBO enforced Abraham's mandatory obligation to Mexico's Gilberto Ramirez. Then in April, Ramirez unseated Abraham for the title on the Pacquiao-Bradley III pay-per-view undercard from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
