North American Boxing Federation super bantamweight champion Bernabe Concepcion’s opponent for his July 26 pay-per-view bout on the Miguel Cotto--Antonio Margarito battle has pulled out because of an injury.

In an overseas telephone conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today, Michael Koncz who manages Concepcion along with Manny Pacquiao and Aljoe Jaro said “I was informed this morning by one of the matchmakers that we are going to have to change opponents because there was some kind of injury to Carrera.” Carrera is the former NABF champion Adam “El Torito  Carrera who had a record of `19-3 with 8 knockouts and was expected to test Concepcion.

Koncz said they would have to look for another opponent for Concepcion who has a record of 25-1-1 with 14 knockouts.

He said that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has Concepcion scheduled for another fight on September  13 in Mexico and “if he is not burned out or anything he (Concepcion) will fight again on Manny’s card first week of November.”
