On the undercard to Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, a super bantamweight contest saw Bernabe Concepcion (26-1-1, 15 KOs) stop Adam Carrera (19-4, 8 KOs) in the third-round.
The start saw Carrera beating Concepcion to the punch when the two of them were in the center. Carrera was coming foward and outthrowing Concepcion early, but Concepcion was landing the bigger punches and had a better connection ratio.
Concepcion began using angles and a lot of footwork to land power punches in the third-round and sent Carrera down with for a flash knockdown from a hard right. Moments later a right uppercut sent Carrera down again. He barely made it up and the referee Joe Cortez waved it off.
