Drummondville, Monday – Benoit Gaudet (13-1-0 6 KO) is set to lace up the gloves in his hometown of Drummondville on Friday, November 30th 2007 at the Centre Marcel Dionne Arena. Benoit will dispute his first 12-round fight against dangerous puncher Alberto Garza (14-3-1, 10 KO) from Mexico with the NABA 130-pound title on the line. With 10 K-O`s in 14 victories, it is very clear that Garza will be trying to test out Benoit’s chin.
“I am very proud that my hometown will be supporting me on once again for this fight with a North American title on the line. I want to and will give all my fans another memorable performance just as I did last year in my rematch victory over Arjona. Some say that Garza represents a big challenge for me, but rest assured that I am up to the task and it is me that will be crowned North American champion on November 30th.”
The organization of this InterBox Gala was made possible thanks to a special collaboration with the City of Drummondville, the « College de boxe » and the Drummondville Voltigeurs Hockey Club. Approximately 15 fights will be presented in total, including amateur boxing, kickboxing and professional boxing bouts.
