IBF/NABF supermiddle weight boxing champion Jesus "El Martillo" Gonzales and welterweight sensation Jose Benavidez Jr. are asking the Phoenix community to help the Rick Favela Family through a catastrophic crisis. Recently, Mr. Favela suffered a debilitating brain hemorrhage and his health insurance ran out after his sick leave exhausted. Rick, a former Marine, works for the City of Phoenix and Irene (his wife) is organizing a carwash/raffle to be held on Saturday October 1 at La Barquita Restaurant, 2334 E. McDowell Road in Phoenix.
The event will commence at 6 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM. Gonzales and Benavidez will be on hand to wash cars and greet well wishers. All proceeds will be applied to medical and family bills. A donation for the car wash and raffle is suggested. A special thanks to the local and national celebrities who signed items included in the Raffle.
