Ben Johnson is aiming to impress again tonight (April 12) live on ProBox TV.

Johnson (left) has won all three of his professional contests with first round stoppages, but will take on his toughest challenge yet at the Maryland Live Casino in Hanover.

He will face the hard-hitting Brandon Mendoza, 6-3 (6 KOs), in just his fourth professional contest and will be aiming for another knockout win but he expects a tough test on Saturday while promising to put on a show again in his home state.

“Oh man, it's been a beautiful ride so far,” Johnson said “You know, just going in and getting the job done, you don’t get paid for overtime. I expect fireworks, expect a show. I'm coming ready.

“I hope he's coming ready. I don't expect him to lay down at all. I'm just looking forward to putting on a show and showcasing my skills.”

Johnson, a decorated amateur, has quickly taken to the professional game.

“Yeah, well, my resume is I'm an amateur 12-time national champion,” he said. “I made the USA team. I went to Germany and got to go in the tournament out there, and my pro career has just been going in and getting the job done, and looking good while doing it. And so far, it's been going in my favor.

“And I haven't made it out the first round yet. I'm just going in and doing my job. They don't belong in there with me. So I got to get them out of it.”

Johnson is part of the booming NoXcuses Boxing Gym in Maryland, Hanover, that also includes fighters such as Jordan and Lamont Roach Jnr, who recently picked up a controversial draw with Gervonta Davis.

Johnson feels no pressure to keep the high standards that his gym has been delivering of late.

“I’m just doing what I've been doing, put the work in the gym,” he said. “It could definitely be pressure, but it's no pressure for me. It's just going in, doing what I do in the gym.”

And what does Johnson want to be remembered for when his career is all said and done?

“I want to be remembered as one of the greats,” said Johnson. “Nobody, I don't think nobody can beat me. So I want to fight the best and just prove that I'm the best in this sport. And with that, I'm going to be a world champion, make a whole bunch of money. So, you know, that's what I want.”
