According to the Dispatch Online, South African promoter Rodney Berman has secured a 2009 rematch between his fighter Takalane Ndlovu and Fernando Beltran Jr. of Mexico. Last weekend, Beltran won a close split-decision over Ndlovu to capture the IBO featherweight title. Berman felt that his fighter was robbed because the bout took place on American soil. Berman says the rematch will take place on Ndlovu's turf at Emperors Palace in February.
“As result we have secured a rematch for Ndlovu against Beltran and the fight will be held at Emperors Palace in February next year,” Berman said.
Last weekend's event was co-promoted with Art Pellulo of Banner Promotions, and in some sort of an agreement - Berman has aquired a 50% stake in Beltran. Berman, through his Golden Gloves Promotion, made a similiar deal when he grabbed a stake in Cristobal Cruz, which came after his win over GGP fighter Thomas Mashaba.
