Tijuana, Mexico - Alberto Beltran went to an eight round draw with Rafael Cobos in the main event of a Zanfer Promotions card. Beltran (14-1-1, 8 KOs) landed more solid blows, with power, but allowed Cobos (14-4-5, 5 KOs) to put in more work. In the end of their super lightweight bout, one judge scored it for Beltran with a tally of 77-75, another judge saw Cobos win with a score of 79-72 and the third judge had it 76-76 for the draw.
Raul "Streaky" Hirales dropped Germán Meraz twice to win an eight round decision. Hirales (18-2-1, 8 KOs) had an aggressive start to drope Meraz (41-24-1, 21 KOs) in the first and fourth rounds. The scores were 77-74, 78-72 and 80-70 for Hirales.
Prospect Oscar Arce (9-1, 8 KOs), the nephew of Jorge Arce, lost a six-round unanimous decision against Mario Lara. Lara's strength was key. The judges scored it 59-55 and 60-54 twice.
