Bellew Warns That He May End David Haye in First 10 Seconds

Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew would love to completely end the run of domestic rival David Haye.

Bellew dropped his title to move up to heavyweight division to face Haye in a pay-per-view blockbuster back in March.

In a shocker, Bellew stopped the former two division world champion in the eleventh round at the O2 Arena in London.

But there is some controversy over Bellew's victory - because Haye tore his Achilles in the fight and became a one-legged fighter in the second half of the contest.

There are serious discussions, and a deal is almost there, for a December rematch. Both fighters are on board and contracts are being drawn up.

If they meet in the ring once again, then Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs) predicts that it could end very early if he lands a clean bomb on Haye (28-3, 26 KOs).

“If it does happen again then it can all end in the first ten seconds, it really can. If I hit him clean with a left hook he’s gone but if he hits me with a big right hand I’m gone too. I am not a fantasist I am a realist, and I have always said this, and this is what I told him before the first fight, what happens when I defeat you and he said, ‘that cannot happen, that cannot happen, that cannot happen’. And I said but you have to understand it can, because we are just two men, and either of us can render each other unconscious at any point, that’s what we can both do to people," Bellew told Betsafe.

Bellew feels if Haye would have lost, without suffering the injury, he likely would retired following the bout. But he's confident that another loss will be the complete end of Haye.

"If it would have happened without the injury he would have retired, there would have been no way back, because of the injury in his mind he can give himself a way back, it only happened because of this and if we ever do fight again and I defeat him again that will be the end of him, that will literally be the spade in the floor burying him, he will be finished, he will not be back. Will that give me great satisfaction, no not really," Bellew said.
