WBC cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew (27-2-1, 17KOs) has continued to push for a future fight with two-division champion David Haye (28-2, 26KOs).
Bellew captured the WBC title this past Sunday in Liverpool with a knockout of Ilunga Makabu in three rounds. Haye was also in action last month, continuing his comeback which began in January in the heavyweight division.
Haye has heard Bellew's recent challenges and he's willing to do the fight, and even willing to drop down to a weight of 210-pounds to make it happen. Bellew is ready to go up to heavyweight if necessary to fight Haye.
Bellew, when he was an amateur, sparred with Haye. He claims to have worked Haye over pretty good, forcing the Hayemaker to withdraw from a scheduled fight.
Haye is scheduled to face former WBO heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs in the fall. Once that fight is squared away, Haye will be ready to face Bellew whenever he wants. Bellew will likely have to make a mandatory defense by then.
"Funny enough you make me laugh. I tuned in to your channel to watch Bullseye and funny enough I watched you versus Lurch. Stop messing around. Stop conning the British public and let's do a real fight. Stop playing around. Stop conning us all. Stop whinging about your big toe you little bitch and get on with it and fight. That's all we want to see," Bellew said to Sky Sports.
"We want to see a real fight. [We don't want to see] you with your top off, not going to nightclubs. We want to see you in a fight lad. Stop being a bitch. Stop moaning and get on with it. Don't pull out of this fight like you did with Tyson Fury, twice...not once, twice. Get on with it tart."
