Cruiserweight contender Tony Bellew (22-2-1, 14KOs) is ready to make every sacrifice possible to defeat Nathan Cleverly (28-1, 14KOs). Their rematch takes place on November 22nd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
Bellew misses his family after moving his training camp to Yorkshire but says the sacrifices are worth it.
He told Sky Sports: “The first thing they said is ‘when are you coming home dad, we miss you’. It’s heartbreaking at times, but not as heartbreaking as losing. This fight is a must-win fight. I will do it at any expense, whatever it takes. I’ll spend a year away if need be. I have to win this fight.”
Cleverly won their first meeting with a close decision in 2011, at light heavyweight. Now both men are 25-pounds heavier, competing in the cruiserweight division. Even Bellew admits that Cleverly has the better body, but says that won't help his rival.
“If you compare his body to my body then he wins hands down. He has a fantastic physique - but the bad news for him is that bodies don’t win fights,” Bellew said.
