WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew has lashed out at BJ Flores in a war of words on social media.
Flores is very close friends with former two division world champion David Haye - who Bellew wants to fight in the fall.
Flores (32-2-1, 20KOs) downplayed Bellew's fighting ability and said the Liverpudlian has a glass jaw. He wants to fight Bellew in October, when Matchroom Sports is potentially positioning his first defense.
Bellew (27-2-1-KO17) fired back at Flores, letting him know that a beating would happen to him and Haye.
"Listen party fiend! I call the shots! You know why? Cos I faced the guy NO ONE wanted to face! Keep partying playboy! Let me get one thing straight - I'll smash you and your playboy friend, the bitch from Bermondsey, Haye," Bellew stated.
Bellew captured the WBC crown in May with a third round knockout of Ilunga Makabu at Goodison Park in Liverpool. After that fight was over, Bellew began to call for a fight with Haye, who hasn't fought at the cruiserweight limit of 200-pounds in several years.
There is also the issue of a mandatory title defense, with champion in recess Grigory Drozd waiting in the wings. Haye is heading to a fall fight with former WBO heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs, but Flores is wide open at the moment. Flores was in the ring back in May, when he won a six round decision over Roberto Santos in a heavyweight contest.
Flores wrote to Bellew: "Sign the contract you bitch. And we can see how tough you are at the pre-fight conference. You look like a teenage boy. Sign the contract."
Bellew was happy to reply back.
"Thanks... I punch like one too! Remember one thing! I make the decisions not you! I believe I earned that."
