Yuka Promotions, alongside with Siesta Boxing’s Al Siesta will stage an in-week, seven-bout card this coming Tuesday in Kazan, Russia.
In the main event, two unbeaten junior middleweights, Khuseyn Baysangurov and Aram AmirKhanyan will square off in a unique title bout that is about to culminate a total of three regional belts of as many major sanctioning bodies. Armenian-born, Russian-citizen AmirKhanyan (11-0-1, 3 KOs) is having the WBO International 154-pound title, while his Russian-born, Ukrainian-native foe, Baysangurov (14-0, 12 KOs) puts his IBF International and WBA Continental belts up for grabs.
“It will be an amazing regional unification fight between two strong super welterweights in Russia, with both fighters being highly rated in the world. The winner of this fight will probably go on to negotiate with Al Haymon or someone like Matchroom Boxing,” said Al Siesta to BoxingScene.com recently, before he made sure he is in close business relationship with both main eventers.
“I am exclusively representing both of them and Siesta Boxing has the first hand in terms of their representation. So, for me everybody is a winner in this fight. It’s a great fight and one I can’t wait to see. This is what boxing is all about, two undefeated fighters putting it all on the line with a chance to win four [the winner will also secure a bogus strap] belts. May the best man win.”
AmirKhanyan last seen in action this past June when he upset Ukrainian Stanyslav Skorokhod over ten close rounds in Kiev. In his most recent ring activity, Baysangurov dispatched journeyman Malkhaz Sujashvili in three frames in early October, also in Kiev. The former ranks No. 11 with WBO, while the latter is being rated No. 5 and 6 by the WBA and the IBF, respectively.
“I put this great fight together, then I passed the rights exclusively onto my friends at Yuka Promotions. We at Siesta Boxing felt that Yuka Promotions and Zyaki Unisov were the best to give this historical fight the justice it deserves. Boxing in Russia is going from strength to strength and I’m delighted my country continues to make history in our sport,” concluded Siesta.
In the co-feature bout of the evening, heavy-handed welterweight prospect, Gor Yeritsyan is scheduled to go after the vacant WBO Youth 147-pound title in a ten-round bout. The opponent of Yeritsyan (8-0, 7 KOs) will be upset-minded Alvin Lagumbay. The Filipino Lagumbay (10-3-1, 9 KOs) has had back-to-back wild, knockdown-filled wars against former world title challenger Keita Obara in Japan earlier this year.
In the undercard, spectators will have a chance to see the return of prospects Petros Ananyan, Narek Abgaryan, Aslambek Idigov, Dmitry Naumov, and Vakhid Akchurin against separated opposition.
The card will be televised on Russian broadcaster Match TV.
