Emerging ring sensation Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista has a new opponent lined up for his battle for the vacant WBO super bantamweight title after Latino champion Feider Viloria was not allowed to board a plane for Manila via Amsterdam from Bogota, Colombia because he didn’t have a transit visa according to promoter Sammy Gello-ani.

After lengthy and frantic overseas calls to Golden Boy Promotions international matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz, Gello-ani disclosed that they had picked Marino Montiel Gonzalez as replacement.

A former light flyweight Gello-ani said Gonzalez is now a regular bantamweight and that the WBO had approved the title fight between Bautista who is ranked No.1 and Gonzalez.

According to boxrec.com Gonzalez has a record of 29-8 with 15 knockouts although he is listed as a 25 year old light flyweight nicknamed “Zaino.” He is trained by Jose Marino Montiel Almada
