Professional boxing comes to El Monte, CA. in December as All Star Boxing and Oxnard's Bring It On Promotions bring what is expected to be an exciting fight card at the Florentine Gardens Night Club. This show is the first of a series of professional boxing shows that will continue at the club in early 2007.
L.A.'s Cleotis "Mookie" Pendarvis (5-1-1) will meet Oxnard's Leonel Madrigal (5-3) in a 6 round jr. welterweight fight. In his last fight, the flashy Pendarvis dazzled fans at the Quiet Cannon in his state title fight against another Oxnard fighter, David Rodela. Madrigal is coming off a victory at the last Quiet Cannon show.
Miguel Angel Garcia (3-0), trained in Oxnard by his brother, former champion Robert Garcia, faces a tough veteran in Thousand Palm's Noe Inzunza (7-11-2) in a 4 round featherweight matchup. Garcia is a promsing prospect who hopes to continue his road to success but has to go through a fighter who has faced numerous superior opponents.
Adrian Aleman (3-2-3), from Cathedral City, goes up against Daniel Quevedo (2-4-1) in a 4 round bantamweight bout. Aleman fought former amatuer star Jerry Pavich on a past Quiet Cannon show to an exciting 6 round draw and Quevado, from Sinaloa, Mexico, comes with a somewhat misleading record...his four losses were all decisions against undefeated fighters.
Guyana Elton Dharry (1-0) is making is US debut against yet another Oxnard fighter, Kristian Magallon (1-1). Dharry's lone fight was a six rounder in his native Guyana almost 2 years ago and Magallon is trying to bounce back from a loss suffered earlier this month. This super flyweight bout is scheduled for 4 rounds.
The aforementioned David Rodela (6-1-2) and El Monte welterweight Santiago Perez (10-0-2) are both scheduled to be on the show against opponents to be named at a later date.
