Carl Frampton takes on Oscar Chacin at Huddersfield Leisure Centre tomorrow night as he bids to notch another W en route to a potential title opportunity later this year.  Barry McGuigan, the manager of Frampton, feels that his man is ready to challenge for domestic honors, the former featherweight world champion believes that the 24-year-old has all the tools needed to make it to the top.

“I would hope this is the last fight before Carl challenges for the British or Commonwealth super-bantamweight title.  He's ready to go right now.  He can do 12 rounds flat out, he's just turned 24 and he's coming to the point when it is the right time for him to fight for a major title,” insisted McGuigan when speaking to belfasttelegraph.co.uk.

“It's also a very good time for Sky to have a look at Carl, it gives a lot more people the chance to see him and to get excited about him and I'm sure they will because he's a special talent.  This guy he's fighting on Saturday night is a tough kid so it's a good test for Carl.  Carl's in great shape, he's been having some great sparring with John Simpson so I expect another good performance.

“If we can get Carl his chance at one of the major titles then the intention would be to bring it to Belfast.  I've been working with Barry Hearn [Matchroom promote the Huddersfield bill], who's a personal friend, over the past 18 months and I know that he is keen to bring big fights to Belfast.”

Frampton has built an 8-0 (5) record, the Belfast-based boxer could be showcased on Sky TV tomorrow night.  Chacin is 13-14-1 (11); his first nine fights resulted in nine straight wins, all of them by stoppage yet he has not won a fight since he stopped Orlando Rogers over five rounds in 2008.  The Venezuelan seems to be a do-or-die type of performer, Crompton will have to be wary in the early going but could hand Chacin his eighth stoppage defeat if he finds his range.

Sky Sports HD1 and 1 televise from 8pm tomorrow night.
