Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is still very interested in putting together a big lightweight fight between Marco Antonio Barrera (66-7, 43 KOs) and WBC lightweight champion Humberto Soto (53-7-2, 32 KOs). Barrera, who was scheduled to return in September, postponed the date and will likely fight again in the fall. Soto will fight on September 11 against Fidel Monterrosa Munoz (23-1, 18 KOs).

"Barrera against Soto is a great match up," said Arum. "They've been eyeing each other for a long, long time, so this one would to be a classic."

Other ideas have been discussed for Barrera and Soto. Arum's company promotes IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (26-3, 12 KOs) of Mexico and WBA titlist Miguel Acosta (27-3-2, 21 KOs) of Venzuela. Arum recently expressed some interest in putting his lightweights together in some form of a tournament.
