Long time trainer of Marco Antonio Barrera Rudy Perez says that he’ll handsomely defeat Manny Pacquiao by being the smarter fighter on the night.

Rudy isn’t preparing Marco for this fight. But he’s been with him since he started in boxing and he will be in Marco’s corner on October 6th at the Mandaley Bay, when Marco tries to avenge the eleven round TKO clobbering that was given to him by Manny Pacquiao on November 7th 2003.

Rudy was at an event in Mexico City in which the WBC presented Israel Vazquez with the championship belt for his Super Bantamweight slugfest win over Rafael Marquez on August 4th.

Rudy Perez explained that the key to Marco winning this time around is boxing skill. Namely a high volume and variety of power punches, shrewdly applied via smart ring savvy, and he’s confident that Marco will achieve his long sought after ring revenge.

Concerning conditioning Rudy said that Marco always gives 100 percent in training and was probably now giving even more than that due to his absence. He also said that Marco wasn’t surrendering any significant advantage of training near his home in Guadalajara, rather than at altitude in Big Bear. Prior to Barrera vs. Pacquiao 1, Marco was actually forced to abandon his training lair in Big Bear early due to wild fires.
