As Marco Antonio Barrera prepares to travel out to Manchester for his March 14 clash with UK superstar Amir Khan, he spoke about the importance of the fight. The Mexican veteran is heading across the ocean to fight before a mob of thousands who will be rooting against him.

Barrera views the fight as one of the most important of his entire career. After losing to Manny Pacquiao in 2007 and taking a brief retirement, he returned last November and fought for a second time in January - both fights against very overmatched opponents. Barrera knows that a lot of question marks are hanging over his career and he wants to answer all of them against Khan.

"There is a lot riding on this fight. I agreed to fight a top fighter because I want to prove that I can still beat a top fighter and beat them in their own country. I know Khan is a great boxer, very skilled, and very fast, an Olympian but there is nothing that worries me. I know that I will beat him," Barrera told ESTO.

Barrera, ranked number one by the WBO, wants to win a lightweight title after the Khna bout is over. He wants to become the first Mexican fighter to win four titles in four weight divisions. At the moment, only Khan is on his mind.

"Who will I fight? At the moment I'm only focused on fighting Khan. Later on I can talk about an opponent. There are four lightweight titles, we will see which way we plan to go," Barrera said.
