BoxingScene.com has been advised that a HBO Latino card featuring the likes of world rated light heavyweight Sullivan Barrera and rising middleweight prospect Arif Magomedov from Glendale, California is being planned for December 12th. Word is that this will most likely be a tripleheader, in Glendale.
Barrera (16-0, 11 KO's), who is promoted by Main Events, was headed to an IBF eliminator against Artur Beterbiev before legal issues prevented him from entering Canada, where GYM (which promotes Beterbiev) wanted to stage that fight.
After Beterbiev suffered an injury, the IBF ordered Barrera to face Igor Mikhalkin - the likely candidate - if a deal is reached - to fight the Cuban boxer on this card.
Magomedov (16-0, 9 KO's) in his most recent bout conclusively beat the undefeated Derrick Webster over ten rounds on July 17th in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a fight that was televised on ShoBox.
The third fight on this show will feature someone from the Zanfer Promotions stable. The undercard will be dotted with boxers from the Top Rank stable.
