Philippine No. 8 ranked flyweight Louie Bantique took on a bigger and far more experienced opponent in the person of WBO Asia Pacific super flyweight champion Pramuansak Posuwan and paid a heavy price, suffering a second round TKO in their title fight in Bangkok.
Bantique who was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Federico Catubay in a PBF flyweight title bout last January 15 in which he was dropped twice, proved no match for the Thai champion who had a far superior record of 31-1-1 with 18 knockouts as against the Filipinos record of 8-3-3 with 3 KO’s.
Besides, Pramuansak scored a seventh round TKO over Catubay last July 8 and a second round knockout over Jun Pader on September 2. He had also beaten several Filipino boxers in recent years.
Bantique tipped the scales at 115 pounds although he is a natural flyweight while Pramuansak was so much bigger and stronger on fight night and hammered Bantique into submission.
