Trainer James Ali Bashir, who works with heavyweight Johnathon Banks (29-1-1, 19KOs), says his boxer will easily defeat Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29KOs) in a rematch.

Banks is now a player at heavyweight after an unexpected two-round TKO of previously undefeated Seth Mitchell in November. They were going to have a rematch on February 16th, but Banks withdrew with a thumb injury.

The fight Banks really wants is a rematch with Adamek. The only loss on Banks' record was to Adamek, by way of an eight round TKO in 2009. Their match took place at cruiserweight.

Bashir says Adamek is no longer the same fighter that he was in 2009.

"Adamek is a great boxer and his fights are very exciting, but his time is slowly coming to an end. Jonathon can really pack a punch, so he should beat him in a relatively easy manner. Not taking anything away from Tomasz, but he didn't win the fight with Eddie Chambers, or the [rematch] with Steve Cunningham. I've been a big fan of Adamek ever since he fought at light heavyweight. He's a great boxer, but his best years are already behind him.
