In another obvious mismatch Filipino super flyweight Rene Banares who is ranked 11 by the Games and Amusements Board was "annihilated" in a WBC Asian Boxing Council title fight against undefeated Panomroonglek Kratingdaenggym according to reports from Bangkok.
The Thai who is regarded as one of their country's finest boxers and is ranked No. 3 by the WBC decked Banares with a wicked left hook in round two after battering the hapless Filipino from the opening bell.

It was the Thai fighter’s eighth successful title defense mainly against Filipino boxers with far better credentials than Banares who, according to the Phil Boxing website has a string of losses including two recorded last year.
Banares lost a six round unanimous decision to Nethra Sasiprapa in Februaryn2005 and then lost another unanimous six round decision to Deeden Kengkarun in October.
