Junior middleweight Bakary Samake was the toast of fans in Paris on Saturday night, thrashing Australia’s Wade Ryan in seven rounds.
The emphatic victory over Ryan won Samake picked up a minor junior middleweight title at the Forum des Halles in Paris, France after an impressive performance. Samake, 21, had cornered 34-year-old veteran Ryan and pummeled him into submission with combinations.
Ryan tried to fight back, but Samake’s shots were so powerful to send him to the canvas. When he came back on his knees, Ryan struggled to recover from the knockdown, forcing his corner to throw in the towel.
The youngster Samake is on course to become one of the more notable junior middleweights having amassed an impressive 17-0 (9 KOs) record. Samake went into the fight with Ryan, 22-12-1 (8 KOs), on the back of a decision win over Julio Alamos in June.
In February, Samake recorded a 10-round unanimous decision win over Ahmed El Mousaoui and is expected to stay busy in 2025.
