BoxingScene.com recently spoke to Randall Bailey who said that he has returned to the gym and has began working out lightly in preparation for his September 8th fight against Devon Alexander. The newly crowned IBF champion did however say that he is skeptical that the fight actually takes place.
"I don't think the fight is going to happen. I still don't have a contract for the fight. How can there be a fight without a contract? I think they are just fu***ng around," Bailey told BoxingScene.
The Florida native also said that despite reports to the contrary, he isn't planning on fighting Alexander in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri and would prefer a neutral venue. He also said there is a chance that he could end up fighting on the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr-Sergio Martinez undercard.
"Why should I have to go to his hometown? I'm not asking him to go to mine. We should fight somewhere neutral like Las Vegas or somewhere else," Bailey stated.
"If the fight doesn't happen I hear I probably will be fighting on September
15th on the (Chavez-Martinez)undercard," he continued.
