Jean Pascal surprised a lot of people when he upset Marcus Browne in August to capture the WBA world light heavyweight title. Prior to that fight Pascal had lost 2 of his previous 4 bouts.

Browne started off strong the fight as his superior boxing skills were on display.  However, the crafty veteran started to close the gap and floored Browne in the 4th round and twice more in the 7th.  Pascal had all of the momentum when the fight was stopped due to a cut over Browne's left eye after a clash of heads in the 8th.  Pascal was up by a single point on all 3 scorecards.

Jack, who lost a unanimous decision to Browne in January on the Manny Pacquiao-Adrien Broner undercard, wasn't surprised that Pascal was able to get the better of Browne.

"I was in Dubai when that happened. Me and Pascal were texting each other. I told him I was rooting for him and I was happy that he won. He is a great guy and a throw back fighter like myself. I got nothing but respect for him. Maybe he lost more rounds but he knocked him down 3 times and did what he had to do," Jack told BoxingScene.com at his media workout.

At 37-years-old, Pascal is clearly past his prime but has battled many of the division's best over the past few years.  Jack expects a tough fight when they step in the ring on Saturday night.

"People wrote him off a couple of times and he came back. Like I said he is a throw back fighter. He ain't no punk. He come to fight every fight. He got more mileage than me and he is a year older than me but you can't overlook him," Jack stated.

Pascal-Jack will serve as chief supporting bout underneath the Gervonta Davis-Yuriorkis Gamboa main event.  Showtime will televise both fights along with Jose Uzcategui-Lionell Thomposon to round out the tripleheader.
