Turkish welterweight Selcuk Aydin was still to fight for the WBC Silver (interim) title on June 5 in Istanbul but against who is unclear. A rumor says Romanian Ionut Dan Ion (Jojo Dan) could be the opponent while others say Luis Collazzo is back in the picture - or never left claiming he never saw a contract for the June 5 date. It´s said that the matter is in the hands of the WBC legal department.
 
Comebacking super middleweight Rudy Markussen will now face Frenchman Christophe Karagoz May 15 in Herning on Sauerland´s inaugural show with TV 2 in Denmark. Lightweight prospect Kim Poulsen is in against Hungarian Zsolt Nagy, who had his best days at superbantam. Sauerland´s First Lady, Cecilia Braekhus defends the WBA and WBC titles against Victoria Cisneros.
 
Dutch lightweight Innocent Anyanwu clash against Portugese Joao Antonio Bento May 15 in Hilversum. Bento comes in for Angel Ramirez, who in turn replaced Sergio Palomo. The fight is for the vacant EBA jr lightweight title.
 
Olympic gold medallist Bohumil Nemecek has passed away at the age of 72. Nemecek won gold at the Rome Olympics in 1960 representing Czechoslovakia fighting at lightwelter. He also won the European championship.
 
EBU flyweight champ Andrea Sarritzu will finally make his on and off defense of the title this Saturday in Selargius (on the island of Sardinia) against Frenchman Alain Bonnel. On the undercard of this OPI 2000 promotion is middleweight Luciano Abis and supermiddle Mouhamed Ali Ndiyae.
 
Spanish feathers Sergio Palomo and Oscar Sanchez Sandoval clash for the national title May 15 in Leganes. It´s also clash between rival promoters Tundra vs Barcelo (Palomo) and Rimer Boxe (Sandoval).
