World ranked super flyweight contender Aston Palicte (21-2) signed a promotional agreement with Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions on Tuesday. The announcement comes on the heels of the promotional outfit's signing of former interim super featherweight champion Bryan Vasquez two weeks ago.
The Filipino's first fight under the 10-time champion's promotional banner will take place on December 17th at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center against unbeaten Oscar Cantu (14-0) in a CBS Sports televised main event.
Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions CEO and Co-Founder Keith Veltre said that the winner will be in prime position to fight for a world title next year.
Aston is currently ranked #11 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and #15 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
