It appears the Erik Morales is not going to be the only Top Rank fighter that goes through a velocity training program. Arum recently told  The Press Telegram , that any of his top fighters that show any kind of weight problem will be hooked up with with trainers that are experts in velocity training. Velocity training is designed for athletes that want to get in the best possible shape. The training program is said to improve muscle and joint strength, and boost up speed, stamina, balance, flexibility and power.

"As far as I'm concerned, my A-list fighters, when they show any type of problem making weight or (are) burning muscle to make weight, I am bringing in personal velocity trainers and they will supervise that aspect of training, Arum said. When Mr. Castillo gets back in the ring next January, he will be supervised by the same people," Arum said. "Mr. (Miguel) Cotto has one of the personal velocity people in training camp with him as we speak."

Arum noted that the reason many fighters are failing to make weight is because their trainers are experts on boxing, but are not experts on nutrition, and because of this he is not taking any chances.

"So I'm not taking anymore chances with any of these trainers who really aren't experts on nutrition," Arum said. "Not that they intentionally do it, but I think that's why these problems are being caused."
