Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has big plans for Gilberto Ramirez (34-0, 24KOs), who captured the WBO super middleweight belt this past weekend by pitching a shutout against Arthur Abraham at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Now, the veteran promoter has his focus on a big fight for his new champion - Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs).

"If 'Triple G' has the guts, he'll beat 'Triple G' the same way he beat Arthur Abraham,"Arum boasted to BoxingScene.com on Monday afternoon.

As for how soon he'd like to see this come to fruition, Arum stated - "As soon as possible. I think he has a fight this month."

Golovkin, the defending WBA, IBO and IBF middleweight champion, faces mandatory challenger Dominic Wade on April 23rd at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

Should Golovkin win, he is the mandatory challenger to WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, who defends his belt on May 7th against Amir Khan. Should Canelo win and then refuse to face Golovkin in the fall, then the WBC will strip the Mexican star and elevate Golovkin to the status of full champion.

Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions, which handles the career of Golovkin says - "Obviously, the first priority - if everything goes well with Wade - is to fight 'Canelo' for the WBC title. If 'Canelo' chooses to not fight for any reason, then Ramirez would clearly be the second biggest fight after 'Canelo'".

In the meantime, there is some talk that Top Rank would showcase Ramirez down the line in Mexico.

"The head of TV Azteca, Benjamin Salazar, was there( at the fights) and he wants very much for Fernando(Beltran) and myself to go to Mexico City to fight. So we'll see,"said Arum.
